A Letter to My Life

Dear Life, 

We've been together for a long time, 26 going on 27 years in fact. For a long time I've enjoyed you. You've brought me great happiness and many new opportunities. You've introduced me to lifelong friends, you've given me a loving family, and you've continued to give me the chance to make a difference in peoples lives.

For that, I love you. 

But recently you've handed me a pretty shady hand of cards. So much so that I pretty much am over you. Ready to move on and start a new life. Cause you're just not doing it anymore. It's become about you and not about me. You're always looking to make someone else happy or allow them to live their dreams while you keep holding me down telling me to try harder next time.

Well, I'm tired of trying harder next time. There might not be a next time, why can't THIS time work? Why is it that I pour hours of blood, sweat, and tears into things that make me happy and you yank them out from underneath me?

For that, I hate you. 

I'll give you once last chance though. If you screw me over again I'm moving on. They'll be no more us. In the future, they'll tell others the story of me dumping you. You'll be nothing, you'll never give anyone else the opportunity to succeed. Do you get that? You'll be a nobody life. I despise you right now, do not screw this up.

For starters, you can help by allowing me to be happy. This can range from things like relationships to income. I'm tired of working for free only to get a few "thank yous". I'm tired of pouring energy and emotion into people who reject it. I'm tired. I need you to get things going again.

Oh, and Life, I love you. I'm grateful to have you around. Without you I would have never been able to understand love. Without you, I wouldn't be the person I am today. So, Life, I'm willing to put all of my love into you. Will you give me your love back?
