Just Another Hot Spring Day, Filled With Yuppie Disc Golf

A couple of years ago a group of us got this bright idea to go Disc Golfing. Little did I know it would soon become the only thing my friends really liked to do outdoors. Which was nice, but I've never been capable of enjoying disc golf.

I don't know why either, maybe it's because it's such a yuppie sport. It's one of those sports where you have to practically live and breathe it. Or, maybe that's just the way my friends are.

Don't get me wrong, they're good guys it's just that they are there to be competitive. They don't show up just to enjoy the activity and get out of the house, they do it to beat each other.

That's not why I play sports anymore. I truly hate competitive sport. I don't know if it's the crap I've dealt with and the babies I've played with over the years, or if I just want to truly enjoy life more.

Too often, too many of us focus on being better than our fellow person instead of focusing on being the best we can be. Just because we lose doesn't mean we suck at life, it means we gave our best and it wasn't as good as the other person's ability that given day.

For me, sport has become an "I'm just glad I still am able to enjoy little things in life". Not everyone can play basketball, soccer, golf, disc golf, baseball....you name it...everyday and still function properly. I can, and that's been a true blessing.

I guess that's my problem with Disc Golf. I would have fun if you gave me a case of beer and said go at it. I mean, I don't have to be drunk but it would add something to ease the competition. It's OK to have a little responsible fun in life too. It's when you can't be responsible that you should stop.

I guess I just don't enjoy it, maybe because I'm no good at it. I like regular golf, in fact I love regular golf. Nothing is better than a day on the fairways. I could live on a golf course....if only they paid me.

At least we've had two beautiful days here in Indiana and I was able to enjoy today out and about. I guess that's what it was all about for me. I got out of the "home office" and enjoyed a little sunshine and a gentle breeze.

It's little, but it's a part of life that helps keep you smiling. It's a reason to be happy with yourself and with your decisions. I love sunshine. I love warm weather. I love the ability to get work done and still go play. It's the way life should be (I just wish I was making more money than I was, but don't we all?).

    Coming Soon

Just wanted to give you guys a couple of heads up. First off, starting tomorrow I'll be launching a couple Amazon "stores" as well as a way to purchase my favorite products through this site and my main site (colbyamartin.com). If you haven't visited it yet, do it. You're missing out on a lot of news and cool things I'm doing.

Secondly, I have a few YouTube ideas that I want to begin to share with the world. These aren't "my videos" per say, but they are community driven. If you'd like to speak with me about getting your YouTube videos more views and opportunities, let me know. You can go over to colbyamartin.com/contact to reach me, or just email me at info@colbyamartin.com.

Lastly, and I can't stress this enough, but click my advertisements and purchase some stuff from my sponsors. You'll see more sponsors starting to pop up this week (much like it used to be) and I'll be needing some support to keep them. Not only do you get wonderful products from them, but you'll also be helping me out financially.

Thanks again guys, I hope you have a wonderful evening and I'll see you back here tomorrow!
